This service will serve patients from a large part of the central zone of the country and according to the information provided by Clinaltec, this service will be available starting in August.
Supported by state-of-the-art technology, nuclear medicine is a medical discipline in which patients are treated with radioactive material (radiopharmaceuticals), which, once inside the body, allows precision diagnoses to be made.
The physician José Mosquera, specialist in Nuclear Medicine and in charge of directing this innovative Clinaltec project in Ibagué, explained that this is the first PET (positron emission tomography) and hospital therapies service in the region, with which Tolima is on the verge of becoming one of the most important medical destinations in the center of the country.
"The nuclear medicine service offered by Clinaltec is very particular, since it is equipped with a great technology, unique in the region from the south of Cundinamarca, Tolima, Huila and Caquetá," said Mosquera.
The specialist in Nuclear Medicine, in turn, pointed out that the important investment made by Clinaltec via Buenos Aires, in Ibaguiera's soil, has contributed to the generation of employment in the city, as well as to the improvement of medical processes in the territory.
"The oncology patient in this vast and large region will not have to travel to other large cities, because everything he or she needs in nuclear medicine will be available at this unit," said José Mosquera.
