The Mayor's Office cited Clinaltec's dedication, leadership, and contribution to the health of the people of Tolima, with special mention of the creation of the department's first Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. On July 24, 2025, one month before the ceremony, the institution had performed the first bone marrow transplant carried out in Tolima territory.
The Order of the Ocobo takes its name from the emblematic tree of Ibagué and is the highest distinction granted by the city to those who make an outstanding contribution to its development.
